The WJ Water Pump Mounting Plate was developed for Piaggio 125/180cc engine blocks that operate on mixed lubrication without an oil pump.
When removing the oil pump, the water pump drive must be held securely in place. It is recommended to remove the oil pump in a mixed-lubrication system, because the oil pump may seize if oil is no longer being pumped through it.
The mounting plate comes with various shim rings, so that the plate can be adjusted to sit as close as possible to the water pump gear and axial play is minimized.
