Overhaul kit for the engine suspension / swingarm of Piaggio and Gilera 125-180cc 2-stroke scooters. Restores play and stability, prevents vibrations and increases safety. Includes silentblocks, plastic bushings and mounting material.
The engine suspension of the larger Piaggio and Gilera two-stroke models is designed as a floating structure with a parallelogram in the swingarm. This effectively dampens engine vibrations. However, the original design used plastic bushings in the frame, which deform or wear in over time. The result is play in the engine suspension and a leaning engine, which is noticeable as instability while riding and often leads to rejection at inspection (such as TÜV).
The rubber silent blocks in the engine housing also wear out over time, causing the same symptoms. This overhaul kit replaces all crucial parts in the engine-rear assembly and restores a tight and secure suspension of the engine block in the frame.
Notice / Tip:
Check the diameter of the plastic bushings on early models (SKR, TPH, Hexagon EX) - some variants have a smaller seat. Adjust if necessary by grinding out slightly.
Coat all parts with water-resistant grease upon assembly to prevent rust and seizing.
