This BGM oversized variator is designed to enhance the performance of Piaggio 125/180cc engines. Thanks to its larger diameter and modified variator bushing, the gear ratio range is expanded, resulting in better acceleration and a higher top speed.
When used with a Malossi oversized V-belt, this variator helps prevent the well-known slippage issue that occurs when using a GTS rear pulley. This ensures a more stable power transfer and optimal utilization of the belt’s contact surface.
– The crankcase must be milled out for installation
– An ST half-pulley is recommended for optimal performance
– Use only with a half-pulley that is the same size or larger than the variator
– Use an oversized V-belt with a GTS rear pulley
– Use an original or Polini 180cc V-belt with original or Fast Arrow rear pulleys
– Proper shimming of the variator depends on your setup — incorrect installation can cause damage
